UITZIGHT HIKING TRAIL

Enjoy nature and five star accommodation at Uitzight that is situated on a little piece of heaven in the Eastern Free State.  It is 50 km from Bethlehem and 300  km from Bloemfontein and Johannesburg.

 ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES

The base camp has 4 bedrooms with electricity and offers sleepover for up to 18 hikers.  You will have enough abolition facilities, wash hand basins, hot water showers, electricity and barbeque facilities at your disposal.  The facilities are used not only by hikers but local and international hunters alike, as well as conference goers.

Firewood and the necessary cooking utensils will be provided. 

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

 The trail has been designed through a Private Nature Reserve where you are sure to see some of the 15 different species of game as well as a wide variety of bird life and flora.

 The 2-day hike gives each hiker the opportunity to hike according to his/her ability, which makes this route unique.  Day 1 gives you the hiker a choice of 11, 15 or 18 km while the second day comprises of 5 or 8 km.

 On the farm Suikerboschrand you can see a variety of Sugerbush that are in full bloom during the months of November, December, January and February. 

The water supply on Uitzight is from natural springs alone and there are a number of springs where you may top-up your water bottles.  The natural beauty and panoramic views will take your breath away.
