WAG 'N BIETJIE HIKING TRAIL -Designed and built by Tiaan Strydom

LOCALITY :Wag-‘n-Bietjie Hiking trail is a circular route where both nights are spent in the same base camp. The trail is situated next to the Vaalriver, 40 km from Bothaville and 45km from Klerksdorp

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES : The base camp has electricity and offers a sleepover for up to 24 hikers. Facilities include a fridge, hot plate, pots, pan and electric kettle. Braai facilities, hot showers, and flush toilets are available

ROUTE DESCRIPTION : Day one is 10 km and day two is 2.5 km.

The trail includes hiking through open veld and also showcases a breath taking river landscape. A greater part of the trail follows the river which includes indigenous trees such as the Blinkblaar-wag-‘n-bietjie, Taaibos, Rosyntjiebos, Jakkalsbessie and many more. The trail adjacent to the river is mostly in the shade creating a "forest" effect.

INFORMATION : Day Visitors are most welcome to use the trail and braai facilities. Fly Catchers (Fishermen) on exploring the rivers have said that they were impressed. In addition to all the above, a guesthouse is available for those who want to relax and experience the tranquility of the farm and river.
